(TUSCOLA COUNTY) — Several Tuscola County Sheriff’s deputies were recently recognized by Sheriff Lee Teschendorf for outstanding service for 2015. Detective/Sgt. Bob Baxter was honored as “Officer of the Year.” Deputies receiving Professional Excellence awards were Deputy Rodney Friday for his investigation in a serious jail incident, Deputies Justin Nitz for his lengthy investigation in a an counterfeit coin case that resulted in arrests of individuals and recovery of property, Deputies Chris Whetstone and Spencer Coleman for their handling of a subject armed with a handgun during a domestic disturbance, Deputies Steve Anderson and Josh Herman for handling of a suicidal subject who said he was armed with a knife.
