Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park offers disc golf

ONTONAGON, Mich. (AP) – Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in the western Upper Peninsula now has an 18-hole disc golf course. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says the course has been set up in the downhill ski area at the park, which is located in Ontonagon and Gogebic counties. There is no additional fee to play disc golf. Bob Wild, park interpreter, says the front nine has shorter holes and the back nine “is quite challenging” and offers Lake Superior views. Discs are available for rent at the park’s campground store.
