Police investigate death of woman
WEDNESDAY MORNING UPDATE: – The woman found dead in a pond in Greenwood Township has been identified as 53-year old Laura Meek. Police interviewed the homeowner Tuesday afternoon but did not make an arrest. More information will be given as we receive it.
UPDATE: – (Greenwood Township) – A woman who was reported missing from the city of Port Huron since last Thursday has been found dead in a Greenwood Township pond.
Deputies were called to a home in the 7500 block of Hewitt Road shortly before noon today. The body of a 52 year old woman was found floating in the pond by family members who had reported her missing. The pond was on the property of a friend of the deceased.
Detectives from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office Dive Team are at the scene of the incident at this time.
No determination has been made as to the cause or manner of death.
