(SANILAC COUNTY) – A 25-year old Sandusky man sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle crash Sunday morning in Washington Township.
According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department the man was riding his motorcycle on Ruth Road, near French Line around 9 a.m. when he lost control in curves near the intersection.
Deputies say the driver failed to negotiate the curves and lost control.
The motorcycle entered the east ditch and traveled a distance before the operator and the motorcycle struck a tree.
Deputies say the operator sustained serious injuries and was treated on scene before being transported by Sanilac EMS to McKenzie Hospital for treatment.
He was later flown to Flint Hurley Hospital by Lifenet for further treatment.
The operator was wearing a helmet and alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor, according to investigators.
Deputies were assisted by the Applegate Fire Department.
