Police investigate possible Bridge jumper

 

 

 

 

 

 

St. Clair County Central Dispatch received a report of a big, heavy object falling off the center of the Blue Water Bridge making impact with the water on Wednesday, shortly after 8 a.m.

Port Huron Police responded and learned a male did park his vehicle on the U.S. side of the Blue Water Bridge and was seen jumping in the St. Clair River.

The vehicle he exited had Canadian license plates. Port Huron Fire Department, St. Clair County Dive Team, and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to conduct search and rescue efforts. As of early Wednesday afternoon, the male subject has not been located.

Port Huron Police Criminal Investigative Unit are investigating. Blue Water Bridge inbound and outbound lanes were shut down temporarily, but have since reopened.
