Marlette PD asking for help identifying B&E suspect

UPDATE: As of 3:00 p.m. on August 10, Marlette Police announced the person of interest was located.

Marlette Police and the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office are asking for assistance in identifying a breaking and entering suspect.

Shortly before 2:45 a.m. this morning, August 10, officers were dispatched to the Marlette Speedy Q at 2998 Main Street after an alarm was tripped. Speedy Q employees off sight were able to access cameras in the building and determined that a subject was inside.

The suspect, armed with a gun and possibly a billy-club, was wearing a black balaclava, black sweatpants and shoes and a navy gray sweatshirt. They fled on foot upon the arrival of responding officers and were not located after a brief foot chase. Deputies were assisted on scene by the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.

The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office collaboratively with the Marlette Police Department will be working on this investigation. The Sheriff’s Office and Marlette Police have posted the pictures of the suspects on their app and online, respectively.
