(SANDUSKY) — Visitors to the McKenzie Health System Hospital Campus now have a place to rest thanks to generous donations from McKenzie Health System staff, both past and present. A memorial bench was recently placed at the main entrance in memory of Dr. Ricardo dela Cruz. Dr. dela Cruz served the Sandusky area for 31-years and passed away in December 2014. He was born in the Philippines and graduated from Far Eastern University School of Medicine in 1973. After immigrating to the United States, Dr. dela Cruz completed his residencies in both Pathology and Internal Medicine and opened his own practice in Sandusky. The gray granite Ricardo dela Cruz Memorial Bench is engraved with the message “He That Touches So Many Lives is Never Forgotten.” His wife, Lolita, children, and grandchildren attended the recent dedication.
