Nick Lien first hit the WMIC/WTGV airwaves over twenty years ago, when he was a youngster getting interviewed by Bob Armstrong for a “Community Scene” segment. Since then, he’s known that radio has been in his blood.
Nick began working part-time at Sanilac Broadcasting as a board runner at the age of fifteen. Upon graduating from high school, he attended college at Central Michigan University and received his bachelors degree in Broadcasting and Journalism. While there, he worked as a reporter for CMU Public Radio.
Upon graduating from Central, Nick headed back to Sandusky to continue working at Sanilac Broadcasting before receiving an offer from Cumulus Broadcasting in Grand Rapids. He moved to the west side of the state in early 2014 to take on the position of Traffic Manager.
When Nick received the call offering him the Assistant Manager position at Sanilac Broadcasting he was ecstatic. He couldn’t be happier living in his hometown and working with people he’s known most of his life. You can catch him on the air with Stan Grabitz as the “news guy” during the WMIC and WTGV morning shows, as well as the host of the Homegrown Radio Show on Saturdays from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on WMIC.
