FRANKENMUTH, Mich. (AP) – A groundbreaking event is planned this week for the Frankenmuth Farmers Market Pavilion. The event takes place Friday in the Bavarian-themed community of Frankenmuth, about 75 miles northwest of Detroit. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development arm provided a nearly $1.4 million Community Facilities Loan and a $50,000 Rural Business Development Grant to support the project. The 10 a.m. event in the 500 block of North Main Street is open to the public.
