Former school bus aide pleads guilty in child abuse case

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) – A 44-year-old former northern Michigan school bus aide has pleaded guilty in a child abuse case, saying he twisted a 13-year-old student’s arm and pushed him up against the side of a bus.
The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports William Fred Rosinski entered the plea Monday in 86th District Court to a misdemeanor attempted third-degree child abuse charge. The 44-year-old says it happened after the boy became agitated on the bus.
Judge Thomas J. Phillips plan to view surveillance video of the incident at Rosinski’s sentencing, which is scheduled Nov. 16.
Grand Traverse County Prosecutor Bob Cooney previously declined to release the video to the Record-Eagle after a reporter filed a Freedom of Information Act request. Cooney says the judge should see it, however, to help determine the appropriate punishment.
