Jared Fogle sentenced in child-porn, underage-sex scandal

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Jared Fogle asked for leniency – but the judge wasn’t buying it. The former Subway pitchman ended up getting a harsher sentence than even prosecutors had asked for. Judge Tanya Walton Pratt has given Fogle a sentence of more than 15 years in prison for trading in child porn and paying to have sex with underage girls. While Fogle begged for a chance to rebuild his life, Pratt scolded him for squandering the opportunity in life he already had. She noted he had “a professional windfall” in his lap because he attributed his weight loss in college to eating Subway sandwiches. As Fogle was handcuffed and led out of the courtroom in Indianapolis, he blew kisses to his crying relatives.
