(PORT HURON) — A skateboard deck art exhibit has opened in the the Fine Arts Theatre galleries at St. Clair County Community College. The exhibit runs through Jan. 22. It is the third year the college has hosted it. Graphic design professor Sarah Flatter says she got the idea from an event called Bordo Bello in Denver. Like that event, the St. Clair County Community College exhibit is a competition. Professional skater Garold Vallie will judge the decks. The winner will be announced January 21. Prizes are $500 for first place, $250 for second and $100 for third. Some of the decks will be auctioned for charity.
