Croswell woman pleads guilty in fatal crash case

(SANILAC COUNTY) — The 21-year old Lexington woman accused of reckless driving in a crash that killed two teens has plead guilty. Laken Williams plead guilty to two counts of reckless driving causing death on Tuesday, December 1 in Sanilac County. The October 28, 2014 crash claimed the lives of 18-year old Dakota Moore of Applegate and 17-year old Danielle Torrez of Croswell. The charge carries a 15-year prison sentence and or a fine totaling $2,500 to $10,000. Police say Williams was driving the vehicle involved in the crash at a high rate of speed on Roach Road west of Croswell Road in Lexington Township. The vehicle rolled over several times and Torrez and Moore were ejected. The then 20-year old Williams originally claimed to be a passenger in the vehicle and was the only survivor. She was arrested in January. Sentencing before Circuit Court Judge Donald Teeple has been set for February 3 at 9 a.m.
