Four injured in Saturday night crash in Worth Township

(WORTH TOWNSHIP) — Four people were injured in a four vehicle crash Saturday in Sanilac County’s Worth Township. Sheriff’s deputies say a car driven by 44-year-old Monique Touchette Soper of Lexington was traveling north on M-25 and was attempting to turn left onto Lynn Blvd. around 7:15 p.m. when a vehicle immediately behind her, driven by 19-year-old Emily Glenn of Port Huron, stopped and waited. A third car driven by 27-year-old Erika Ramsey of Cass City was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of the second vehicle pushing it into the path of a fourth vehicle driven by 76-year-old Jacob Smith of Lexington. Smith was traveling south on Lakeshore Road and struck the Glenn vehicle head-on. The Ramsey vehicle also struck the Soper vehicle before coming to rest in the roadway. Glenn, Smith, and his wife, 75-year-old Vera Smith, were all transported by Croswell EMS to McLaren Port Huron Hospital for treatment. Ramsey was transported by Tri Hospital EMS to Mckenzie Health System in Sandusky for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not reported. Police say that all six passengers in the four cars were wearing their seatbelts and air bags deployed in three of the vehicles. An investigation continues. The use of drugs and or alcohol is being determined via blood tests.
