Chalmers’ leaner lifts Grizzlies over Pistons 103-101

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Mario Chalmers scored 25 points, including a leaning 19-foot jumper with less than a second left to give the Memphis Grizzlies a 103-101 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night. Chalmers was fouled on the play and missed the ensuing free throw. The shot appeared to miss the front of the rim and the clock ran out with players scrambling for the rebound. Chalmers’ basket meant the Pistons lost both games to Memphis this season on a late shot. Matt Barnes’ heave from halfcourt with 1.1 seconds left gave the Grizzlies a 93-92 victory on Dec. 9. Marc Gasol had 19 points for Memphis, and Barnes scored 18. Jeff Green finished with 16. Rookie forward Stanley Johnson led the Pistons with 19 points, and Ersan Ilyasova scored 17. Reggie Jackson had 12 points and Andre Drummond finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
