(KINGSTON) — Kingston High School was put on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a general mass threat was found on a bathroom stall. Superintendent Matthew Drake says the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department was contacted just after 1 p.m. and they performed a visual sweep of the building. Within an hour of the call, the Michigan State Police K-9 unit swept the building. The Mayville and Kingston Police Departments assisted. Superintendent Drake stated, “I realize that it is highly upsetting when staff and students are threatened. I also realize that parents want immediate information. It is not alway possible during an incident/investigation to make updates available. I will always make every attempt to get the best information available out as soon as possible to parents and the community.” According to Drake, a suspect has not been identified at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
