Detroit auto show draws more than 815,000 visitors

DETROIT (AP) – Organizers say there were more than 815,000 visitors to the North American International Auto Show this year. The attendance numbers were announced Sunday night. That’s up from more than 808,000 that attended the show last year at downtown Detroit’s Cobo Center. The annual charity preview drew more than 13,000 people and $5.2 million was raised for eight southeastern Michigan charities. President Barack Obama was among the visitors last week. And Sunday’s final day saw more than 104,000 attendees.
