(LAPEER) — Lapeer County Sheriff Ron Kalanquin recently awarded Deputy Larry Kardell the Sheriff’s Department “Life Saving Ribbon” for his relentless and detailed work in locating an 83-year old woman in Dryden Township back on January 13. The missing woman had been outside in the frigid temperatures for over four hours until Deputy Kardell conducted a house to house search and found her. The woman’s body temperature was dangerously low and Deputy Kardell called for EMS and immediate medical treatment was started. Officials say the woman has made a full recovery thanks to quick action by Deputy Kardell.
