No injuries reported after truck hits house in Worth Township

(WORTH TOWNSHIP) — An 18-year old driver lost control of his pickup Thursday around 6:30 p.m., crashing into a house in the 7100 block of Wildcat Road in Sanilac County’s Worth Township. Sheriff’s deputies say the driver, Hunter Martin of Applegate, was traveling north on Wildcat Road when he attempted to regain control on the slippery roadway and crossed the centerline into the opposite lane of traffic. The pickup left the roadway, struck a tree stump and continued into the lawn of a residence, eventually striking the front porch of the house. The pickup came to rest after hitting an exterior wall to the house, but did not go through the wall. 77-year old Donna Cook of Croswell was inside the home at the time of the crash, but was not injured. Deputies say Martin was not injured and alcohol was not a factor. At the time of the crash the roads were getting slippery due to falling snow and dropping temperatures.
