(TUSCOLA COUNTY) — The Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office says a local real estate company has reported that one of their homes for sale was used by someone to scam money. Deputies say the criminal put a picture of the house on Craigslist, stating that the house was for rent and anyone interested should drive by and send them a deposit. The house is not for rent and the person sending the money is ripped off. Deputies say this has been going on sporadically from time to time in the area and across the country. Residents are reminded to be cautious of this type of scam.
