(PORT HURON) — A phone scam involving jury duty is currently going on in St. Clair County. According to St. Clair County Clerk/Register Jay DeBoyer, an individual is calling people and telling them they have missed their jury duty appointment. The caller then tells the victim that the fine for missing jury duty can be paid over the phone. DeBoyer says that the County Clerk’s Office does not contact people by phone for such an issue. Citizens with questions regarding a phone call from the County Clerk’s Office may contact them at 810-985-2200.
