(TUSCOLA COUNTY) — Authorities have released the name of the person found dead in the basement of a Denmark Township home in Tuscola County. Undersheriff Glen Skrent says investigators are awaiting autopsy and toxicology results, but drugs are suspected in the death of 31-year old Daren Juopperi of Imlay City. Deputies were sent to the home on W. Caro Road Saturday for a domestic assault just before Noon. The body found in the basement was unrelated to the assault. 34-year old Eric Cook of Lapeer was arrested for domestic assault and other charges unrelated to Juopperi’s death. The case remains under investigation.
