(MARLETTE) — What was once one of the few remaining rooms original in design to the 1950’s hospital structure is now one of the most recently modernized areas in Marlette Regional Hospital. Following a successful fundraising campaign orchestrated by the hospital’s Foundation and its volunteers, Marlette Regional Hospital is happy to announce the completion of the newly renovated resident dining area and family room in the long-term care unit. The long-term care unit, commonly referred to as the extended care facility, was built in the late 1950’s and was one of the first hospital-attached long-term care facilities in Michigan. Some of the main features of the renovation project were the new glass windows that were lowered to enable residents to view the courtyard garden, new paint and floor covering, new TV’s and a sound system, new dining tables and chairs and custom storage cabinetry.
