(SANILAC COUNTY) — The Sanilac Medical Control Authority, through its educational arm, Sanilac Medical Services, is conducting an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support training session for healthcare providers on February 24 and 25, 2016, at the SMCA office at 171 Dawson St. in Sandusky. Pre-registration is required by calling 810-648-3092.
The ACLS training course builds on the foundation of lifesaving “Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers” skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. This advanced course highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. ACLS also covers airway management and related pharmacology. Skills are taught in large-group sessions and small-group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.
If you are a healthcare provider and are interested in this course, please visit the SMCA website at www.sanilacmca.org, or call SMCA at 810-648-3092 for additional information or to register. Discounted tuition rates are available to county residents due to the “Coordination of Medical Control/Emergency Services” millage. Call 810-648-3092 for more information.
