DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) – AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have increased by about 6 cents a gallon in the past week. The Dearborn-based auto club says the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $1.96 per gallon on Sunday. That’s about 35 cents less than it was at the same point last year. It’s the fifth consecutive week that statewide average daily gas prices have increased. The lowest average price was about $1.94 per gallon in the Flint area, while the highest average was about $1.97 per gallon in the Detroit area. AAA Michigan surveys daily fuel prices at 2,800 gas stations across the state.
