(PORT HURON) — A Port Huron man credits his late father for helping him win a $1.15 million Lotto 47 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery. 45-year old Joseph Durcan matched the six Lotto 47 numbers drawn on February 27 to win the game’s $1.15 million jackpot. He bought his winning ticket at the Sunrise Store, located at 2627 Gratiot Boulevard in Marysville. Durcan said his dad’s birthday was the 11th and 11 was in all three lines of his ticket. Durcan visited Lottery headquarters in Lansing this week to collect his prize. He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $730,000 rather than an annuity. With his winnings, Durcan plans to pay off his debt, buy a new truck, buy a vehicle for his mother, and invest the remainder.
