FRANKENMUTH, Mich. (AP) – An opening date has been set for the new Frankenmuth Farmers Market. The Saginaw News reports the market opening May 14 in Frankenmuth will include space for 50 vendors, a kitchen for product and business development as well as a store where local growers and artisans can sell their produce and products. The market in the Bavarian-themed community, about 75 miles northwest of Detroit, also will feature a gathering barn for community events and green space for outdoor events. The Consumers Energy Foundation awarded $75,000 to help build the market.
