LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) – Jason Castro, A.J. Reed and Jon Singleton homered for a Houston Astros split squad in an 8-3 win over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday. Most of the Astros regulars and manager A.J. Hinch were in Mexico City for a game against the San Diego Padres. Scott Feldman, who started 18 games for Houston last season, went four innings, allowing one run. Luke Gregerson, who led the Astros with 31 saves last season but is being groomed as a starter, struck out the side in his only inning. Mike Pelfrey started for the Tigers and allowed four runs in five innings. He allowed nine runs in five innings in a minor league game his last time out. James McCann homered for Detroit and had two hits, including a double to boost his batting average to .351. Miguel Cabrera also doubled for the Tigers.
