(MAYVILLE) — Authorities say a 16-year-old Michigan boy is facing charges after being found with a loaded gun and knives in his backpack at school. Tuscola County Prosecutor Mark Reene says the Mayville High School student was arrested last Thursday after being found with a pistol, two gun magazines and seven knives. Reports say the student apparently had been in class at the school. The arrest came a day after Reene said the student made a verbal threat to harm another student. That student told a school staffer. Charges include carrying concealed weapons, carrying weapons with unlawful intent and having weapons in a school zone. The student, whose name wasn’t released, is being held in juvenile detention. He’s due back in court on Wednesday.
