(SANDUSKY) — A 14-alarm fire destroyed the service area and several large farm implements at TNT Equipment in Sandusky early Tuesday morning. The fire broke out just before 1 a.m. in the service area of the business, located at the west city limits of Sandusky. Sandusky Fire Chief Todd Hillman says the cause of the blaze is undetermined at this time. He noted that the parts department, offices, and showroom area of the business was saved with no smoke damage. Fire crews from Carsonville, Deckerville, Port Sanilac, Brown City, Marlette, and Elk, Moore, Lamotte, Speaker, Argyle Townships in Sanilac County assisted with manpower and tanker trucks. Outside departments from Kingston, Brockway Township, and Kenockee Township were also dispatched to the scene. Firefighters remained on the scene battling the blaze throughout morning. There were no injuries reported. The TNT Equipment Facebook page had a post Tuesday morning stating that the shop area is a complete loss and the business is closed today. They will have the parts department open soon and are asking customers to be patient.
