(DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP) — Lapeer County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an attempted child abduction case that took place Sunday afternoon in Deerfield Township. Authorities say a 10-year old girl was walking her dog along Lawndale Road just before 2 p.m. when a man driving a truck, approached her and asked if she wanted a free kids meal. The girl answered no and kept walking. The suspect was described as a white man in his 40’s with an average height and weight, wearing a blue baseball cap. He had gray facial hair on his chin. The truck was a medium sized single cab pickup, red in color with a black hood. It also had rust on the passenger side wheel well. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Department.
