Mark Hamed, MD, earns Master of Public Health degree

(SANDUSKY) — Dr. Mark Hamed, Medical Director of McKenzie Health System’s Departments of Emergency and Hospitalist Medicine, has recently earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of West Florida. He had previously attended the University of Michigan earning a Bachelor in Pre-Medical Biology and Health Policy Studies degree and his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration degree with a focus in Healthcare Management in 2008. Dr. Hamed said that because of the shift in direction of healthcare delivery in the United States, he decided to pursue the MPH to be better prepared to understand and manage the change. He has been with McKenzie Health System in Sandusky since the summer of 2011. In addition to his role there, he maintains senior staff physician privileges and faculty membership with Henry Ford Health System’s residency programs. He currently is the Executive Treasurer and on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians. He is also an associate clinical instructor with Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and Central Michigan University College of Medicine based in Mount Pleasant.
