Sanilac County Corrections Deputy Completes Police Academy

(AREA) — Sanilac County Corrections Deputy Ronald Edington recently graduated from the 98th Class of the Delta College Police Academy. Deputy Edington was the first Corrections Deputy to test and be sponsored by the Sheriff’s Office to attend the academy in nearly 30-years. Deputy Edington is a 2004 Peck High School graduate and served in the United States Army for 6-years, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He was hired at the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office as a part-time Corrections Deputy in December 2010 and promoted to full-time in July 2012. Deputy Edington has served on the Sheriff’s Corrections Emergency Response Team and has won numerous Sheriff’s Office Awards. He started his official duties in the Uniform Services Division on May 8.
Sheriff Biniecki stated, “I am very pleased to see this opportunity become a reality after so many years and the ability to offer this career path to a pool of talented Corrections staff. This competitive program allows us to draw from known employees to join the ranks of our quality Uniform Services Team. I am proud to see Deputy Edington do so well throughout his training and look forward to others following in his footsteps.”
