(YALE) — An early morning traffic stop by Yale Police Monday led to the arrest of three people allegedly involved in a robbery and felonious assault. The vehicle was spotted around 12:30 a.m. traveling at a high rate of speed through Yale. Officer Thomson was able to get the vehicle stopped on Oatman Road and M-19. A woman driving the car informed the officer that she was in fear of her life, was being held against her will and being forced to drive the vehicle. At that time, two passengers in the vehicle were acting suspiciously and not cooperating. An off-duty Yale officer and Capac Police were called to assist as the front seat passenger took off on foot. The Port Huron Police and St. Clair County Sheriff’s K-9 units were able to apprehend the suspect a short time later. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of several pounds of marijuana and several guns. It was determined that the three suspects had earlier broken into a residence in the 7000 block of Bricker Road in Sanilac County’s Fremont Township. Names of the three suspects have not been released as the case remains under investigation.
