(HURON COUNTY) — A vehicle stopped early Saturday morning as part of a drug investigation led Huron County Sheriff deputies to the seizure of about $3,000 worth of suspected heroin in Huron County’s Caseville Township. According to Sheriff Kelly Hanson, a 41-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman from Caseville Township in the car were taken to Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon for a body search after police obtained a warrant from 73B District court. The suspected heroin, as well as prescription pills, were found during the search. The man and woman were both arrested on felony drug charges and were lodged in the Huron County Jail on $10,000 and $5,000 bonds. A third person in the car, a 38-year-old Kinde man, was arrested on unrelated charges and is being held in the Huron County Jail on a civil warrant. Additional charges may be pending following a review of the case by the Huron County Prosecutor. Police did not report whether the fourth person in the car was charged.
