(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) — The St. Clair County Council on Aging, Inc. held their annual awards celebration on May 12 at the Black River Country Club. The council recognized a number of individuals and groups for their commitment and assistance on behalf of seniors in St. Clair County throughout the past year. Marcia Haynes of Port Huron was presented with the Outstanding Senior Citizen Award. The Richard J. Caldwell Honorary Lifetime Membership Award was given to Mike Bliss of Port Huron. The Community Service Award went to Port Huron Housing. Foster Grandparent Program Safety Camp of Port Huron was the recipient of the Goodwill Ambassador Award. There were also special recognition awards given to Yale Police Chief Mike Redman, Sue Kinyon of Port Huron, Mary Burns of Smiths Creek, and Dolores “Dee” Callens of Fort Gratiot.
