(BAD AXE) — A 50-year old inmate at the Huron County Jail in Bad Axe was found unresponsive in her jail cell Saturday morning and later pronounced dead. Sheriff Kelly Hanson says Nancy Bouchard was found by a corrections deputy around 11:30 a.m. and CPR was initiated. She was pronounced dead by ambulance personnel and an investigator from the Huron County Medical Examiner’s Office was called. Sheriff Hanson says Bouchard was booked into the jail Saturday morning at 2:45 a.m. for a felony related firearms offense that had taken place in Elkton. A full investigation is taking place and an autopsy took place over the weekend. Sheriff Hanson says no further information will be released at this time as the investigation is expected to be lengthy.
