(BRIDGEHAMPTON TOWNSHIP) — Sanilac County Circuit Court Judge Donald Teeple Monday denied a request by wind energy company Exelon, to force the Bridgehampton Township Planning Commission to hold a public hearing on the company’s application for a special land use permit. The complaint was filed by Exelon ten days after the planning commission voted to table a public hearing on the special land use permit for planned development, Michigan Wind 3. The company stated in its complaint that the delay is a political play by the Planning Commission to deprive Michigan Wind of its right. Exelon has plans for 50 windmills in Bridgehampton Township. Township officials have discussed a moratorium on wind development and an ordinance revision will go to the voters in August.
