NBA Playoffs: Cavaliers hammer Raptors

CLEVELAND (AP) – The Cleveland Cavaliers have bounced back from a pair of losses in Toronto to post a lopsided win over the Raptors. The Cavs lead the NBA’s Eastern Conference finals three games to two following a 38-point blowout over the visiting Raptors. LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving each had more than 20 points in Cleveland’s 116-78 victory. Love scored a game-high 25 points and was 8 of 10 from the field to help the Cavaliers shoot 57 percent for the game. James and Irving each added 23 points against the Raptors, who never threatened after the Cavs carried an 18-point lead into the second quarter. Cleveland’s lead continued to expand during the first three periods. It was 31 by halftime and 40 heading into the fourth quarter before coach Tyronn Lue was able to rest his starters. It didn’t even matter that the Cavs shot just 60 percent from the line, missing 14 free throws. The Cavaliers have won their three home games in the series by an average of 29 points. The Raptors had 19 turnovers and shot just 39 percent from the field, including a miserable 3-for-17 from 3-point range. DeMar DeRozan was Toronto’s high scorer with just 14 points, one more than Kyle Lowry. No other Raptor had more than nine. The Cavs will try to wrap up their second straight Finals berth Friday in Toronto.
