(HARSENS ISLAND) — A pedal-powered pub on wheels is coming to Harsens Island. Barrel Bike Bar is a 15-passenger pedal-pub that will be visiting the island several times this year. It will take a three-hour tour around part of the island while passengers drink brews and help pedal. Renee Poole, a Barrel Bike Bar co-owner who grew up on Harsens Island, says she was excited to bring it to the island that’s located at the mouth of the St. Clair River. The cost is $400 total for 15 people, drinks not included. Last year, Governor Rick Snyder signed a law allowing passengers to drink alcohol on such pedal-powered vehicles. Local governments still can restrict onboard drinking.
