PITTSBURGH (AP) – The bottom line is this: If the Pittsburgh Penguins win tonight’s fifth game of the Stanley Cup Final they will have their fourth NHL championship in franchise history. The Pens took a 3-1 series lead Monday night with a 3-1 victory in San Jose. If they win on home ice tonight they would become the first major sports team in Pittsburgh to clinch a title at home since the 1960 Pirates. For the Sharks forward Tomas Hertl remains day-to-day with a lower body injury. If a sixth game is called for it will be played Sunday night back on the Sharks’ home ice.
