(CASS CITY) — Thumb Electric Cooperative held its 79th annual meeting and member appreciation day on Saturday, June 11 at the Cass City Recreational Park. The day was highlighted with the election of three Directors and several family-friendly activities. Elected to 3-year terms on the Board of Directors were Randall Dhyse of Huron County, Kim Nunn of Sanilac County, and Louis Wenzlaff of Tuscola County. TEC Board President Louis Wenzlaff highlighted several areas of the company during the meeting. He noted that last year, employees and contractors designed and constructed over $4.4 million of new utility plant bringing TEC’s total investment to over $87 million, serving 12,204 member accounts in Huron, Sanilac, and Tuscola counties. General Manager Dallas Braun talked about the cooperative’s financial status with operating revenues of $19.5 million and expenses of $19.2 million, resulting in an operating margin of $321,350. Following the meeting, the Board of Directors elected Louis Wenzlaff President, Don Wolschleger Vice-President, Beth McDonald as Secretary, and Randall Dhyse as Treasurer.
