(DRYDEN) — The Armada Township man charged with robbing the Oxford Bank branch in Dryden Township back on January 8 has pleaded guilty to the crime. 51-year old Thomas Goulette pleaded guilty to bank robbery on June 13. An armed robbery charge was dismissed because of the plea. Authorities say he entered the bank and demanded money while implying that he had a gun. He is scheduled to be sentenced in the case on July 18 in Lapeer County. Goulette, a former Dryden School’s Superintendent, is currently serving a 3 1/2 to 20 year prison sentence after pleading guilty to armed robbery of the Tri-County Bank in Brockway Township near Yale on January 7. During that heist, Goulette entered the bank and brandished a handgun, demanding money from the clerk. Goulette served the Dryden School district from 2005 to 2013.
