(AREA) — The DNR has released this week’s fishing report for the Thumb. From Lexington to Port Sanilac, trout and salmon fishing in Lake Huron was good when anglers could find them. The fish were scattered at all depths most likely due to rain runoff and windy conditions. Pier fishing at all ports was slow. In Harbor Beach, lake trout were scattered, but caught straight out and north of the harbor. The salmon were on the slow side and a few walleye were taken. Bass and pike can be found inside the harbor and near shore when casting or trolling. Pier anglers were getting a few rock bass. In the Saginaw Bay this week, walleye were being caught all over the inner bay, but the consensus among anglers was that the fish appeared to be moving toward deeper water. Those trolling have also caught a lot of freshwater drum and a couple nice yellow perch. Bass anglers are doing well in Wildfowl Bay when fishing out of the marinas.
