DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) – Plans to upgrade the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn are getting a $4 million boost. Hospital officials say Monday a $2 million grant from The Carls Foundation that’s being matched by an additional $2 million gift from the Oakwood Foundation will allow the hospital to improve the NICU. Renovations will allow staff to better serve babies and their families and install new technology. Nearly 500 premature infants spend time in the Dearborn NICU each year. The Dearborn hospital formerly was known as Oakwood Hospital.
