(BROWN CITY) — The Nike Missile in front of the Brown City VFW Hall could be moved to the Brown City Veterans Memorial on Main Street. The city council had no objections Monday night on the move. Due to lack of membership, the Brown City VFW is selling their building at 7108 Maple Valley Road. Because the missile is the property of the U.S. Army, it must be returned or put on display at another VFW or veterans site. It was noted at the meeting that if the U.S. Army allows the move, proceeds from the sale of the building may be used to move and install the missile on Main Street. In other business, David McArthur of Snover was appointed by the council as the next City Assessor with a 3-year contract and Karen Burgess was appointed to the Cemetery Board with a term expiring December 31, 2020.
