Price, Ortiz lead Red Sox win over Indians

CLEVELAND (AP) – The Cleveland Indians had a wonderful opportunity to pad their lead in the American League Central this weekend. Instead, they dropped three of four at home to a Yankees team that was two games under .500 entering the series. The Indians committed three errors that led to eight unearned runs in an 11-7 loss to the New York Yankees. Jacoby Ellsbury belted a two-run homer after Carlos Santana dropped a throw to first, and shortstop Francisco Lindor’s throwing error contributed to a six-run fifth that gave the Yanks an 11-1 lead. Ellsbury finished with three RBIs and Brett Gardner drove in a pair to support an impressive outing by Nathan Eovaldi, who allowed just one hit over 4 1/3 innings of shutout relief after the Indians chased Masahiro Tanaka. The outcome keeps the Indians 6 1/2 games ahead of Detroit, with Kansas City and Chicago seven games back
