AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) – The Detroit Pistons have finalized their $130 million, five-year contract with NBA rebounding leader Andre Drummond. The Pistons scheduled a news conference with Drummond on Friday and sent a release shortly before it was scheduled to begin, saying the 22-year-old Drummond had re-signed with the team that drafted him in 2012. The 6-foot-11 Drummond led the league in rebounding last season, helping Detroit make the playoffs for the first time since 2009. Drummond was a restricted free agent, but the Pistons were able to keep him with this new maximum contract. Drummond averaged 16.2 points per game in 2015-16. The only major problem with his offensive game is his free throw shooting, which has caused coach Stan Van Gundy to bench him late in games.
