(SANILAC COUNTY) — MDOT will replace the bridge deck of M-53 over the south branch of the Cass River beginning Monday, August 1. Crews will also complete preventive maintenance on M-53 over Greenman Creek. The work is expected to be finished this November. M-53 traffic will be maintained at the south branch of the Cass River via temporary traffic signals. Minimal traffic impact is expected at Greenman Creek, with work focused primarily on the underside of the bridge. Meanwhile, MDOT will start resurfacing 5 miles of M-24 near Metamora in Lapeer County from the Oakland County line to Pratt Road on Monday, August 1. Traffic will be maintained with single-lane closures and flag control. Most of the work will be done overnight from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. The project should be wrapped up in October.
