Sheriff’s office seeks the public’s help in stolen ATV complaints

(LEXINGTON TWP) — The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department is seeking information from the public about two separate breaking and entering and ATV thefts in Sanilac County’s Lexington Township. The first occured in the 4000 block of South Lakeshore Road sometime before 7:00 a.m. last Friday morning. A homeowner reported that a silver and black Yamaha Viking V1 side by side had been stolen, as well as a large amount of construction tools. The ATV was recovered Tuesday at an abandoned home in the area of Kelly and Norman Roads in St. Clair County’s Lynn Township, but police are still looking for leads in finding the culprit.
On Saturday, deputies responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Babcock Road after receiving a complaint about a breaking and entering in a barn. The owner reports that the suspect or suspects pried open the door and stole a yellow, 2008 Can Am Renegade 4-wheeler. That vehicle has not been recovered. Photos of both vehicles can be seen below. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to contact the Sanilac County Detective Bureau at 810-648-8360.
